HK immigration new visa policy focus on India nationals.

Hong Kong Immigration announced the new visa policy focus on India nationals on 12 December 2016.
Indian nationals must apply for and successfully complete pre-arrival registration onlinebefore they can visit or transit HK. The Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals will be implemented on 23 January 2017. The online service for “Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals” will be opened on 19 December 2016.
The registration is valid for a 6 month.On each visit, a registrant may stay in the HKSAR for up to 14 days.`
An Indian national can apply for pre-arrival registration on-lin if he/she:
1.holds an Indian passport valid for at least 6 months;
2.intends to visit or transit (except in direct transit by air and not leaving the airport transit area) the HKSAR for a staynot exceeding 14 days.
Subject to normal immigration requirements being met, the following categories of Indian nationals may visit the HK withoutpre-arrival registration:
1.holders of a valid Indian diplomatic or official passport;
2.holders of United Nations Laissez Passer coming to the HK or transiting the HK to/from a third place forofficial United Nations business;
3.those who have successfully enrolled for e-Channel service for frequent visitors;
4.holders of a valid HK Travel Pass;
5.those who have obtained a valid entry visa for the HK.
The registrant should visit thedesignated GovHK websitefor pre-arrival registration. The registrant must truthfully enter the correct information. The information the registrant provides in the pre-arrival registration needs to be exactly the same as it appears in his/her Indian passport. After inputting the required information, the computer system will process the registration automatically. The registration result will be made known to the registrant instantly.
